Google has announced Gemini 3.0 Ultra, its most powerful AI model to date, at a special event in San Francisco. The new model brings a suite of capabilities that represent a significant step forward from Gemini 2.0 — including real-time video understanding, a 2 million token context window, and native integration across all Google Workspace applications.
What is New in Gemini 3.0
Real-Time Video Understanding
Perhaps the most striking new capability is the ability to process and reason about live video in real time. In Google’s demo, Gemini 3.0 Ultra was shown analysing a live sports broadcast, identifying players, tracking statistics, and answering natural language questions about what was happening on screen — all with under 200ms latency.
2 Million Token Context Window
The context window has doubled from Gemini 2.0’s 1 million tokens to 2 million. In practical terms, this means the model can process the equivalent of roughly 3,000 pages of text, or an entire codebase, in a single prompt. Google demonstrated this by asking the model to audit and refactor a 500,000-line enterprise codebase in one session.
Deep Workspace Integration
Gemini 3.0 is being rolled out across Google Workspace — Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, and Meet — with far deeper integration than previous versions. The model can now proactively surface insights across your entire Drive, draft presentations from meeting transcripts, and propose formula corrections in Sheets based on the context of your data.
Availability and Pricing
Gemini 3.0 Ultra is available today to Google One AI Premium subscribers at £21.99 per month. The standard Gemini 3.0 model will roll out to all Google accounts over the next 30 days. API access for developers is available immediately via Google AI Studio.
